Aliesha is trying to carry Shakespeare’s huge book of plays, but it’s way too heavy! She tears out some pages, throws them in a trash can, and before she can say “Bard,” the characters materialize from the trash can, raising havoc in this rollicking “comedy of errors”! Student actors will work as an ensemble exploring Shakespeare’s most popular plays (including Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth, and Taming of the Shrew), rehearsing, developing characters, and creating scenery. The program will culminate in a final presentation for family and friends.

Poe! Poe! Poe!

The play begins as Poe is dying, and as he struggles with death, he recounts his life. Exploring tragedy, comedy, fantasy, and Poe’s most famous works, including The Tell-Tale Heart and The Raven, the ensemble of actors will re-create the life and works of one of America’s greatest poets.

Grades 6-9

Bilbo lives a comfortable, quiet life as a hobbit – one of a race of creatures about half the size of humans. His comfort ends with the arrival of the wizard Gandalf, who persuades Bilbo to set out with a team of dwarves to reclaim treasure from the dragon Smaug. Reluctant, Bilbo joins, and together they experience the most daring and heroic adventure of their lives!

1st and 2nd graders will sing and dance alongside the main cast of The Hobbit in 2 of the 4 performances*. Students will also have fun with theatre games and creative movement in this popular performance class.
